A Hong Kong steamer, the "Tin Yat," was stopped and searched by a Japanese destroy- er on Wednesday, it was reveal- ed this morning.

Shortly after leaving Colony for Canton, the vessel was signalled in Taitsun Bay, near the British border, by a destroyer, and was then board- ed by an officer and six blue- jackets. After being detain- ed for nearly an hour, the ves sel was released.
