11.122 The installation of electrical plant and services as well as instrumentation work for the scheme progressed satisfactorily.
11.123 The local/manual and automatic controls of tunnel gates were commissioned and acceptance tests carried out.
11.124 An order was placed for an extension pump for Tai Po Tau Pumping Station and manufacture of the pump was in hand.
Plover Cove Water Scheme Stages I & II
11.125 A concentrated effort was made jointly by the Waterworks Office and Legal Department in the organisation of the arbitration proceedings concerning claims on P.W.D. Contract No. 72 of 1963, Plover Cove Dam. The hearing commenced on 1st March 1976 and was continuing.

The Unit is responsible for examining standard forms, Conditions of Contract and other standard procedures, and advises on the preparation of contract documents. In particular it aims to minimize the number and effect of claims from contractors.

Claims arising on projects managed by Waterworks Office and the Consulting Engineers were examined and liaison was maintained with the Legal Department to ensure that Government's best interests were being served.
