11.79 Specialised equipment was developed and manufactured for drying out motors, safety testing of equipment and moulding replacement high-voltage connectors.

11.80 Power factor correction capacitors were installed in 11 pumping stations to maximise the advantage of tariffs offered by power companies for reducing maximum demand.

Development and New Works

11.81 Liaison with the Consulting Engineers on the design, installation and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation plant for the Plover Cove and High Island Water Schemes continued.

11.82 Installation of electrical services, overhaul of electrical equipment for Towers A and CA of High Island Water Scheme and the installation of cabling for Clarifiers Nos. 4 and 5 at Sha Tin Treatment Works was undertaken by the Division.

11.83 The design of security lighting for the Pak Tam Chung Lowland Pumping Station of the High Island Water Scheme was completed.

11.84 Work on the installation of plant, instrumentation and building services at seven pumping stations, one treatment works extension and two minor installations was completed and commissioned. Procurement of electrical and instrumentation equipment for 11 pumping stations, one treatment works extension and minor installations progressed.
