Berlin, To-day. The new Benes plan handed to the Sudeten German representatives yesterday was received in Ger- many with an emphatically critical reserve. It is noticeable, however, that all expressions of opinion found in the Berlin press, as far as such occur at all, are dated from Nuremberg so that it is to be assumed that they are based on im- pressions received in authoritative quarters there.

They have one feature in common, namely the criticism that the new proposals had been lauded in ad- vance by the London, and Faris newspapers as a great concession.

"This concentric campaign", can- not, of course, change the German. attitude. It must be made unmis- takeably clear whether Prague now seriously means to grant autonomy and to carry through the ethnic séparation.

It must also be made clear what methods England proposes to adopt to make her influence effective in Prague, writes the "Deutsche All- gemeine Zeitung."
