LONG DISCUSSION BETWEEN BENES AND SUDETEN PARTY Situation Held To Offer Favourable Aspects

Breach Of Peace

By Germany Thought Unlikely

Prague, To-day.

Yesterday's meeting between President Benes, Dr. Kundt and Dr. Sebedkovsky, the Sudeten Party negotiators, lasted till nearly 2. p.m. This is regarded as encouraging and, coupled with the news of Herr Hitler's agreement with Herr Henlein's views, has given the situation a more favourable aspect.

Although nothing has transpired regarding the interview-between President Benes and the German delegates, it is believed that the dele- gation pressed for guarantees that the Gov-" ernment would fulfil its pledge on the concés- sions and insisted on a short period of appro- ximately three months for the full execution of the programme.

It is now considered probable that President Benes' message will be delivered to-morrow.

President Benes has informed Lord Runciman that he met the delegates of the Sudeten German Party, that negotiations lasted until 2.50 p.m. and will be re- sumed on Monday.

A report of the meeting has been issued to the British Mis- sion which shows that the whole problem has been thoroughly

discussed.
