Japanese military` ́circles claim, after more than a week's siege, to An have occupied the town of Juichang, where heavy street fight- ing was reported yesterday.
It is asserted that the Chinese forces withdrew to hills nearly thirty kilometres west of Jui- chang, and that the effect of the capture of Juichang is to cut them off from their communica- tions with the Wuhan cities.
Separated from the Wuhan first line of defence, they are, accord- ing to Japanese sources, isolated.
