Chauffeur's Lawsuit
Mrs. Adrienne Scottdorrien, di George-street, Hanover-square, W., a beautiful young society woman, friend of Lady Oxford and Asquith, has Instructed her solicitors to lodge {n appeal on behalf of Thomas Franklin Vince, penniless ex-chauffeur,
Vince was recently defendant to an action in which it was found that an elderly woman, Mrs. Edith Pullen, of Southgate, N., had been induced by his undue influence to make a new will, in which he was to benefit to the extent of £3,500.
RUINED
Counsel suggested to the judge that Vince's actions. amounted to a deliberately planned fraud, and that in the execution of it he came as near to committing "construc- tive murder" as was possible.
The man's business in Kensing- Lon Gardens, Brighton-cooked meat shop - was ruined by the publicity of the proceedings. Hun- gry and penniless, he drifted into St. Peter's Kitchen, Soho, one night' last week and sat down to a bowl of free soup.
Mrs. Scott-Dorrien is owner of the kitchen, where 300 homeless are fed every night. She spends thou- sands of pounds every year helping London's down-and-outs.
Vince spoke with fellow-unfortu- nates about his ill-luck, and Mrs. Scott-Dorrien, who was helping to
