THREE FATAL CRASHES IN R.A.F. MANOEUVERS: SIX PLANES WRECKED

London, To-day.

The greatest air manoeuvres ever held in this coun- try were completed yesterday, over 900 aero- planes having participated.

At the conclusion of Saturday's manoeuvres, the objective of which was an air raid on London, the British Air Ministry issued an official com- munique stating that the defence had been ef- fective and that only an insignificant number of planes had succeeded in reaching the city.

According to the observations of the directing officers, the majority of the planes were either shot down by anti-aircraft gunners or com- pelled to withdraw.

The manoevures did not pass without accidents and casualties.
