A wireless message, picked up by the Associated Press, from San Juan, Porto Rico, says that an attempt was made to shoot Major-General Blanton Winship, the Governor of this United States' dependency, during the co- lebration at the Ponce, commem- orating the 40th anniversary of the landing of American troops during the Spanish-American War.
It is reported that the Governor was not injured. Reuter.
