The City of Rheims was covered with flags yester- day when the reconstructed Cathedral was officially opened
opened by the Papal Cardinal Archbishop Suhard in the presence of the President of the Republic, Presi- dent Albert Lebrun, Marshal Petain, members of the French Senate and Chamber, 59 Car- dinals, archbishops and bishops and a host of other distinguished personages, including Cár- dinal Hinsley, the Archbishop of Westminster, and many British peers and members of Par- liament.
Mgr. Suhard, in his sermon, re- forgot their friends and the fervour ferred to the Royal visit to Paris, of Paris would demonstrate this in and declared that France never a few days.

The three day's festival to cele- brate the restoration of the Cathe- dral began on Friday when the · United States Ambassador, Mr. W. Bullitt, was made an honorary citizen of Rheims in recognition of the many benefits bestowed upon the town by Americaną.
The celebration included the staging of a Twelfth Century mystery play and the floodlighting of the Cathedral-Reuter.
