AIRMAN SIGHTS PLANE CRASH
Eastleigh, Hants, Monday. While flying to Hamble aerodrome to meet his brother to-day, Pilot Officer C; L. F. Colmore, of No. 87 Fighter Squadron, R.A.F., noticed the wreckage of an aeroplane on a bank of the Hamble River.
When he landed he was told that the wrecked machine was piloted by! his brother, Gerald Ian Fellowes Colmore, aged 20, who had been killed.

Mr. Colmore, who was taking a two months' course with Air Ser- vice Training Ltd., Hamble, before entering the. R.A.F., got into diffi- culties when flying at 600ft.
He attempted a parachute de- scent, but his parachute. failed to open. According to a farm labour- the er, he "fell like a stone in middle of a field."
