London, To-day. The Royal Air Force, Short Sunderland flying-boat made a re- cord non-stop flight of 1,250 miles from Pembroke Dock to Gibralter in eight hours in the course of a service flight to Singapore via Malta, Alexandria, Karachi and Calcutta.

The plane, which has a range of 3,000 miles, is heavily equip- 'ped with armaments and is to be used for reconnaissance at Sing- apore.-Rentor.

Following the attack by Franco planes on the French steamer, Brisbane, in which five were killed, including the British non-intervention observer and the British agent, a message from Alicante states that two French destroy- ers have now arrived at Denia.

It is reported that the Brisbane, which was bombed yesterday, was attacked by insurgent planes, which, in addition to dropping bombs, fired be- tween two to three thousand machine-gun bul- lets into the vessel, which was finally grounded.
