WHEN Brian Wilbur landed in Holly-

wood he went straight to Nor bert's rooming house, because he knew that the people who lived there either worked in the movies or would like to work in the movies, and that was the kind of atmosphere he wanted to get into. He was a tall, laughing, mer- ry-eyed youth, with an air of assurance about him that amounted to almost a swagger. The gang at Norbert's had seen his type before and they felt sor ry for him.
