The Season's Line Of Grace
A Fashion "What's What"
LINE. This is import.
Last year's crop of godets just won't do. Daytime skirts are short. In tailored stuffs, pencil slim lines are made practical with centre back pleats pressed flat and stitched to the knee line. Slashed skirts are out. Thin materials run to width. Gathers are pre-war in number. Every kind of pleat is high drama.
liest fabrics
are crease resisting and sanforised-which means "pre- shrunk."
DETAILS. — Needlework takes pride of place. Drawnthread and fagoting are high fashion.
Stitchery trims the outstanding frocks and any woman clever with Coats and jackets fit.
Even a needle has her chance to shine. boleros are inclined to be
snug. Shoulders are proudly square, but not fussily important—and no 1938 sleeve dare puff. Bracelet length is right for frock and coat sleeves.
Silks are ruffled at the elbow. If your figure can get away with it, be sure to have one corselet bodice cut on the cross and narrowly sash- ed.
