We've been scouting around the shops again to see what they have that we should tell you about, and quite by accident we ran into Ma- dame Helene, who used to run a dressmaking establishment in Shanghai.

Things haven't changed, we were pleased to learn. Parisian patterns are still being received from the same source, and scenes showed that the same tailors a peep behind
are still on the job, and they've been that way for the past fifteen years.

Being a mere journalist, natural- ly we couldn't help but ask ques- tions-and we learnt
us. that she is conducting a similar establishment here under the name of La Femme Moderne.
Well, finding a good dressmaker in this city of ours is as easy as finding the proverbial needle in a haystack, and so we are sure that all you with hard-to-fit figures will want to know more about this shop.
PATTERNS FROM PARIS
In the days when we knew.this clever dressmaker, her smart little shop (then under her. own name) was known to every astute woman in Shanghai who wanted her frocks to smack of the Rue de la Paix în Paris but at a price!
The price was made possible by the fact that regular shipments of the very latest patterns were be ing received from her sister in Paris. From these patterns Madame Helene made her gowns.
