Because of its win in the Han- yang Plate over one mile at the last Meeting, Stymie has to carry Ibs more, and this extra burden may prove just a little too much.

Considerable interest and speculation has been aroused over this race, and in order to retain possession of the cup it must be won twice in succession by a pony or ponies belonging to the same

owner or owners.

Very satisfactory entries have been received in fact, quite the best in comparison with previous meetings-and the success of the Meeting is assured.

THE GOVERNOR'S CUP: ONE MILE

This is the main event of Meeting The following will bably start:——

I don't think we should look fur- ther than National Dignity for the the winner, as it ran second to Dekko pro-at the last Meeting in Hong Kong. Cape Comorin is the danger, but Be Yourself

capable of creating an upset. At any rate, these three ponies are the best, with my preference going to Na- tional Dignity.

There are seven events on the programme, the last of which is reserved for lady riders.

As Merry Maker is a fairly fast mover over a short distance, it may prove just a little too good for Morning Tip. I expect these two to fight out the finish, however, with Hohenfels taking third place.

THE PRAIA GRANDE HANDICAP: NINE FURLONGS

This race is confined to China ponies, subscription griffins of the Hong Kong Jockey Club which were purchased by the Macao Race Club on March 16, and I expect to see the following taking part:-

African Cat (L. B. Chao), Clondy Star (K L Ip), Daddy Longlegs - (W. X. Yeh), Double Up (S. W. Tang), Eagle (A. W. Raymond) and Mongolian Cat (S. C. Liang).

At the previous Meeting, African Cat won the Changsha Plate over one mile, and so has been penalised by 5 lbs, but as it was two lengths in front of Mongolian -Cat at the -finish, I think it will win again.

Mongolian Cat is expected to all second place, and Eagle should not find much difficulty in taking the other minor position.
