The letters W, I, and D indicate matches won, lost and-drawn respectively. Games played at home are shown in capital letters, while away games are denoted by ordinary type. The figures in brackets denote the position held by that team at the conclusion of last season, an asterisk denotes that that team has been, pro- moted and a dagger that that team has been relegated.
