KONG DEFEATED BY TSUI YAN-PUI
WINNER IS SINGLES CHAMPION IN THE MAKING
(By "ADREM")
(Tsui Fan-pui beat Paul Kong 6—3, 6—4).
FROM an educational point of view, the quarter-
final tennis match on the Stand Court of the Hong Kong Cricket Club yesterday between veteran Paul Kong and youthful Tsui Yan-pui, was the finest yet seen in the current tournament.
BOTH PLAYERS WERE STRICTLY ORTHODOX IN THEIR THE METHODS AND ASPIRANTS TO HIGH HONOURS IN LOCAL TENNIS WORLD COULD NOT DO BETTER THAN TO STRIVE AND EMULATE EITHER OF THEM IN STROKE-PRO- DUCTION AND FOOTWORK.
In other phases of the game also, was there much to be learn- ed by their example. For the most part rallies were brief be- cause both players went for win- ners and of necessity did not al- ways bring them off.

TO-DAY'S FOOTBALL CLASSIC
TWO FRIENDLY BOWLS MATCHES FOR TO-DAY
With the start of the lawn bowls League at the end of this month, all clubs are now busily making ar- rangements, and although only two greens were used last week, most clubs will be, seen at practice this week.
Most of to-day's games will be intra-club affairs, but the Police are entertaining the Football Club, at the Valley, while in Kowloon, Recreio will be the guests of the Kowloon Bowling Green Club.
At the Taikoo Docks Recreation Club, an intra-club game will take the form of a farewell to Messrs X. Drummond and T. Young who are leaving for home shortly. This will be also the only game this season of W. Cunningham and J. C. Chalmers, who are also proceeding on home leave shortly.
