The Rumjahn-Lee Wai-tong match was

affair. The former had little control over his driving and was very poor over- head, but his biggest failure was in servicehe double-faulted after holding match point at 5-4 and at 6-5, in the second set. Rumjahn double- faulted on seven occasions during the match, while Lee was at fault on three occasions.

Rumjahn made the mistake of playing to Lee Wai-tong's back- hand, which was in perfect condi- tion, and the winner only realised his error late in the second set when he changed his tactics and played to his opponent's forehand, Lee's weakest stroke, and this ultimately led to the latter's down- fall

ERRATIC DRIVING Lee's service was in very shape, but Rumjaha was ever on the alert and retrieved everything which came across the net, al- though there was little excuse for his erratic driving on the forehand.

There was little to complain of in the umpiring of the match which was in the hands of Mr. C. J. Tacchi
