SPEECH ON
CONTINENT CAUSES SHOCKS Criticism Of M. P. In House Of Commons
Premier Dismisses
Matter As An Indiscretion
London, To-day.
A week-end speech by Mr. A. T. Lennox-Boyd, Con- servative M.P. for Mid-Bedford, in which he ridiculed the idea of a British guarantee for Czecho-Slovakia, was raised in the House of Commons yesterday by Mr. Arthur Henderson (Labour), who declared that the speech was broadcast to the Continent and caused con- sternation in Czecho-Slovakia.
Mr. Lennox-Boyd, in a personal explanation to the
House, admitted his error. He assured the House that he had not realised the importance that might be attached to his words, but he would realise in the future that any words he might say must be weighed very care fully before expression.
