Four Hundred Machines Pass In Herr Hitler Parade
Vienna, To-day. Before the military parade in Vienna yesterday afternoon, Herr Hitler laid a laurel wreath on the Vienna War Memorial.
As the Fuehrer emerged from the crypt, 7,000 peo- ple on specially erected stands, and many thou- sands more lining the streets, broke into wild cheers.
The military parade in the Helden Platz, where even the roofs and telephone boxes were cover- ed with spectators, lasted two hours. Before the parade, nearly 400 German air force planes flew in successive arrow formation over the city, completing the demonstration of arma- ed might.
Taking his place at the grand-f stand, Herr Hitler greeted repre- sentatives of Vienna and also spoke a few words to Herr Franz ron Papen, ex-German Ambassador to Austria.
