ENTRIES, WHILST BEING FAR FROM RECORD-BREAK- ING, ARE SATISFACTORY AND AS MOST OF THE LEADING EXPONENTS OF THE GAME HAVE ENTERED, TENNIS ENTHUSIASTS CAN BE ASSURED, ON MOST AFTER- NOONS OF THE WEEK, OF SOME EXCELLENT ENTERTAIN- MENT.

I must confess, however, that there are several names which are entirely new to me. There has been a great influx of people from Shang- hai and I would not be unduly sur- prised to find some talent them.

They are not very enterprising in their methods but possess sound de- fences with great retrieving ability and these qualities may conceivably carry them to victory although, it must be admitted, this eventuality is fairly remote.
