In order to keep the Chinese army and the people of the nation. well supplied with food during the war and simultaneously curtail the production of opium, Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek to- day ordered the governors of Sze- chuan, Yunnan, Kweichow, Shengi and Kansu provinces to convert present opium poppy fields into farm lands.
The generalissimo at the same time ordered the governors tighten up on the present opium suppression drive..
