PROMOTION

His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve the following promotion in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 19th, February, 1938:

Regimental Sergeant Major Thomas Parkinson to be Lieutenant, (C.S.O. No. 2/198/88).

Machine Gun Signals Sunday, 27th February. Musketry Table B. Kowloon City "B" Range. Firing commences 9 a.m.

Monday, 28th February, 5.15 p.m. HQ. Subsection D-Revolver drill.

Wednesday, 2nd March, 5.15 p.m. H.Q. Subsection D Recruits--Map Reading.

Friday, 4th March. Subsection A' & ~B will leave H.Q. by lorry for Island

reconnaissance at 5.15 p.m.

A Section. Lecture by Major Smith, RA, at H.Q. on Thursday, March 3rd at 5.80 p.m. Subject "Lessons from shoots at Camp".

L Section. There will be no parade on Friday, March 4th.

Signal Section.

There will be no parade on Friday, March 4th. A Sec- tion signallers will attend lecture on Thursday, March 3rd.

2nd Battery

Friday, 4th March, 5.30 p.m. H.Q. R.O.D.C.-Construction Section Thursday, 10th March. Parade at H.Q. at 5.30 p.m. and proceed by lorry to Kennedy Road Range to carry out an exercise on "Tunnel" type, demoli- tions. All members are requested to be present at this important exercise.
