Every time you apply cold cream to your face, massage a little into the cuticle. This entails very little time, and will give the nails a well- kept appearance.
When the hands are discoloured, sallow, or the skin appears rough, a good bleaching pack will soon set matters right. Wash the hands thoroughly, apply a little nourish, ing cream, and then spread the pack' thickly over the hands. Work it well into the skin around the knuckles. Allow the mixture to remain on the skin until it is dry, then remove with warm water, and finish off with cold.
HAND EXERCISES
Before treating your nails, you should always indulge in a little hand exercise. This exercise will loosen the muscles and create an invigoratedTM blood flow. You can carry out this exercise whilst either standing or sitting. Allow the arms to hang loosely at the sides. Then tense the arms so that they are quite stiff. You will feel the results of this movement in your elbows. Now centre your mind on
your wrists, and gradually lift the fin- gers, keeping them tightly together so that they point upward and out- ward. Then, when you feel the strain in the wrist, allow the fin- gers to slowly relax. Repeat this. movement until you are tired.
FASHION GOES TO YOUR HEAD
В
There's
craze for evening headdresses, and Paris is doing all sorts of wonderful things with them. Some are quite simple- just a twirl of ribbon and a bow, or a flower or two. Others are very original, and sometimes eccentric. The sketch shows a group of the newest. They may be too elaborate for you, but remember it's smart to decorate your hair in the evening. You can tie it ap with a plain ribbon bow or deck it with one or two posies of flow- ers. Hair clips are being worn ‘a great deal too, by those who dress their hair in a coil at the nape of the neck.
The Cold Shoulder!
Claire Dodd's favourite dancing gown this season is fashioned in the new Egyptian silhouette. Com- bining green and purple crepe in fascinating insets, the dress fea- tures a halter neck of green extend- ing into floating-panels. With this, Claire wears a sable wrap lined with the green and purple crepe.
PERFUME
Here are a few perfume do's and don'ts. Don't put perfume on your dress-it isn't good for either. Do use a spray--you'll get better re- sults than if you pour scent direct from the bottle. A good idea, also, is to soak little pads of cotton wool
