The new Rumanian Government was sworn in by

King Carol yesterday evening. Addressing the new Cabinet the King began by describing the pre- sent situation as the most momentous in the history of the Rumanian people. He then turned to those members of the new Cabinet who had served as Prime Ministers in former Governments and thanked them for responding to a sense of duty and patriotism by proferring their services at this critical moment, when Rumania was entering upon a new phase in its history with full determination to correct errors of the past. He felt certain of being able to place complete reliance in his new Ministers.

The husband of a once-wealthy woman told the Recorder of Cardiff, Mr. Roland Vaughan Williams, K.C., of the shock he had when he learned of his wife's housebreak- ing exploits.

Mrs. Eva Morris, 43, who pleaded guilty to three charges of house breaking and one of attempted housebreaking, was bound over for two years.

It was stated that in a house at Penylan, near Cardiff, where Morris was caught, the police found a com- plete set of housebreaking imple- ments, including an electric torch, gloves, screwdrivers, wire hooks and 22 keys.

Supt. T. Lewis said that the police were satisfied that the offences named in the charges were not the only ones Morris had committed.
