Paris, January 1. The British pair, C. M. Jones and Miss Valerie Scott, entered the semi-final of the mixed doubles in. the Christmas Tournament here to day. They beat J. Lesueur and Mlle, Curdell, 2–6, 6–3, 6–4.
After a nervous
opening which lost them the first set the British 0 players rallied and made the score set-all. A fine fight for the match. 1 ensued. The British pair led 3-1, and then both dropped their ser- Ovices, and the French couple took 1the lead at 43. Playing on Mlle. 0 Curdell's weakness, the British pair 1 took the set at 6-4 for match.
