SAW'S OMISSION FROM ASSN. TEAM INEXCUSABLE
(By "OUTSIDE LEFT")
A very interesting football match should be witnessed at Caroline Hill this afternoon, when the Hong Kong Football Association and the Hong Kong Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation clash in their return fixture in the Governor's Cup Competition, the latter having won the first match by 4 goals to 2.
The Chinese Federation will be without the services of Fung King-cheong, and it will be most interesting to see the result of their attack without the services of this brilliant schemer.
the
The Chinese are a well-balanc- ed side, however, and with exception of Hau Ching-to, on the left-wing, are comprised mostly of players from South China “A” and “B”. The Chin- ese side to meet the Corinthians will most likely contain several of to-day's players, and this will probably be taken as an unoffi- cial trial.
The Chinese have an excellent defence with Lee Tin-sang and full-back Shui-hon, in the
Mak
division, where they will find their hands very full in trying to cope with the fast and trický tion team.

Lee Kwok-wai has been dropped from the left-half berth which has been given to Tse Kam-hung, a very promising player from South China “B”.

LEAGUE FINAL TO-DAY
The final match in the Hong Kong Boys Amateur Football League will take place this afternoon, on the Navy ground, at Causeway Bay, commencing at 4 p.m. when St. Joseph's Col- lege will clash with La Salle College.
Bright, of the Middlesex, above, will occupy the pivotal position in the Association's team this after- пооп.

The closing stages of Third Division, of the Foot- ball League, has
this week- reached and after how been end's games there remain but two postponed matches, but in- terest in both sections has been maintained till the end.
While the Portuguese Sporting Association have already won the Kowloon section, the Hong Kong' section will depend on the result of to-day's game between the FOR TO-DAY Medicals and the 5th A.A. Eḍe.

As far as I can see there will be little combination among the sociation's forwards, most of whom play a different type of soccer to
one
another. Freshwater and McGuigan should form a useful right-wing combination but I can- not say the same of the left-wing.
On current form the Chinese should win or force a draw which will give them an extra point and the trophy for this season."
His Excellency the Governor, Sir Geoffry Northcote, has intimated that he will be present.

This is the former's last game and a draw will give them the honour, while a win for the Gun- ners will enable them to beat the Medicals by one point, pro- vided they win their remaining two games.
The Ordnance, who are now sec- ond in the Hong Kong section, com plete their fixtures to-day and should have no difficulty against the Powhatten. They will have secured 20 points and will depend on the Gunners dropping three points in their three remaining games to re- tain second position.

In the Kowloon section the 24th 5th A.A. Bde. R.A. Battery, R.A., and the Air Force are still fighting it out for second place, but the latter meet the Portu guese to-day and are not expected to win.

I cannot understand the Associa tlon's selection. Rowlands is pro- bably the best back we have, while

Third Division' (Kowloon)
There appears to be some mis- understanding among Third Divi- sion teams regarding the method which will decide, the champion- ship and runners-up position, at an extra-ordinary general-meeting, early in the season, the Hong Kong Football Association decided that home and away games would be played between the winners of the two sections to decide the cham- pionship, but for the runners'-up position, the loser of these games would play the
in next team
the other section.
This year
the Portuguese Sport- ing Association are to meet the Medicals (if the latter win the Hong Kong Section) in two games, but if the Portuguese lose, they will then play the Ordnance or the 5th A.A. Bde. (whoever is second), for the runners-up title, and vice- versa, if the Medicals lose, they will then play the team second in the Kowloon section.
The only game of any interest în the Second Division is the encoun- ter between South China and the 5th A A. Bde., R.A. and this should result in a win for the Gunners, who are still in a challenging post- tion for the Second Division title Kwong Wah, who returned to form last week, should easily account for the Seaforths.
