During May, six senior officials of the Kwangtung Water Authority, led by Mr. Wang Yung, Director of the East River-Shumchun Water Supply Project Administration Bureau, visited Hong Kong at the invitation of the Hong Kong Government. Various water installations and other engineering projects were visited and problems of a common interest were discussed.

11.07
The Division controls, maintains and extends the fresh and salt water distribution systems and is responsible for the provision of supplies to consumers.
11.08 In view of the increasing importance of providing an effective consumer service, greater stress was placed on these activities and during the last quarter of the year, the duties within the division were re-organised to enable the Chief Engineer to devote the necessary time to and be responsible for the co-ordination of all consumer services functions.
Mains Sub-Division
11.09
Extensions to fresh and salt water distribution systems were carried out to supply areas of new development and provide mains reinforcement to meet the programme for replacement requirements under urban redevelopment schemes.
