SALE OF HELIUM TO GERMANY HELD UP

Mr. Harold Ickes, the Secretary for the Interior, announced that President Roosevelt had approved the suggestion of his Department prohibiting the sale of helium until the American Government has ac- quired new supplies.

Mr. Ickes added that orders for. helium cannot be accepted until an agreement has been executed pro- viding for the sale to the Govern- ment of privately-owned properties in Kansas and Colorado.

Meanwhile, a German steamer is held up in a coast port waiting to carry helium for the new German Zeppelin.-Reuter.
