Education Buildings

The year saw the completion of the Government Secondary School at Sha Tin, and additions and alterations to both the Grantham College of Education and the Old Northcote Training College.

Construction of the Sir Robert Black College of Education was well advanced.

Work started on two new technical institutes, one at Kwun Tong and the other at Kwai Chung, both of which are due for completion in 1975. A third institute at Cheung Sha Wan is at an advanced stage of planning.

Construction of extensions to the Shau Kei Wan Government Secondary Technical School and the Morrison Hill Technical Institute was nearing completion at the end of the year.
Fire Services Buildings

Temporary accommodation for Hong Kong District Fire and Ambulance Controls was completed.

Construction work on an Ambulance Depot at Mount Davis started at the beginning of December 1973.
General Items

The Multi-Storey Car Park in Murray Road was substantially completed in July 1973 and the car parking portion has been in use since then. Upon completion of the fitting out work, the four floors of office accommodation in the same building were occupied at the end of 1973.

Piling for Stage II of the Multi-Storey Car Park at Yau Mei Tei started in March 1974.

Construction of the Preventive Service Training School at Tai Lam was well advanced by the end of the year.
