WEEK-END CRICKET
Army "B" Lose To I.R.C. In Junior League
I. ALI AND RUMJAHN RESPONSIBLE
SOUZA HITS HARD FOR 100
(By "ADREM"):
DESPITE a gallant effort by Sergt. Painter, who, according to my records, has also turned out for Army "A", Army "B" were beaten by IR.C. juniors by 5 wickets, in the only League match played last Saturday.
G. Souza was responsible for the biggest score of the week, compiling a hard-hit century in a pick-up game at the Craigengower, in which match, A. B. Hamson also distinguished himself by cap- turing 5 wickets for only 10 runs.
Army "B" have had a most disappointing season to date and have now been defeated four times in as many attempts. Painter, -who opened their batting on Saturday, showed that the IR.C. bowl ing could be hit. He scored all round the wicket, finding the bound- ary on no fewer than 14 occasions. Next highest scorers however, were Hopcroft and Patterson with 13 each. Minu went on late and took 4 wickets for 13, while Ismail Ali, a schoolboy, bowled very steadily.
It was left to the LR.C.'s two schoolboys to knock off the 134 runs required for victory. Ismail Ali, followed up his bowling with a dashing innings of 66, which in- chuded 14 fours and K. M. Rumjahn scored 26. H. T. Barma, who open- ed, was not dismissed until 47 runs, were on the board of which, his share was only a dour 12.

BDIVISION LEAGUE BADMINTON Kowloon Tong to Play Free Lances
(By "ADREM”“
Only one match will be play- ed off in the "B" Division of the Badminton League to-day, Kowloon Tong meeting the Free Lances at Kowloon Tong. Both teams have victories over the C.R.C. to their credit and a very keen game is certain to eventuate, although, it appears to me, the home team should get away with the points, chiefly because of their better balance.
Free Lances chief chance of win- ning rests in the form shown by J.
L Anderson and G. Bovaird. If this pair can win all their games, there may be a chance of Fisher and Clark pulling off two. Frankly, I don't think Harris and Hilton are likely to offer much opposition.
ALTERED LINE-UP
