SAINTS BOYS WIN FIRST GAME

The Hong Kong Boys Football League held their first meeting at

Joseph's College last Monday to discuss a case of ineligibility and to arrange the fixture for the season. The following representa- tives were present. Seaforths, Middlesex combined Central Bri- tish School, St. Joseph's College and Wah Tan College. •

In answer to a protest made by a Military club against the Sea- forth Boys-team, Mr. Day pointed out that that club had only eight eligible players and under the rules of the League could not com- that pete as a team, and added they did not wish to combine with any other club in the League.

LEAGUE SATENED WITH PLAYERS CONDUCT

Official Statement

London, October 7. Follow ing the recent allegations of un- fair play in professional foot- ball, the Management Commit- tee of the Football League, after a lengthy meeting at Blackpool yesterday, issued the following statement

"In view of the fact that the Football League clubs have up to the end of September played 700 games and only one over

player has been ordered off and less than 40 cautions adminis

tered, the Management Commit- tee feel that no further pro

nouncement is necessary on their part, except that, so far as the League is concerned, the commit- tee is satisfied with the conduct of the players on the field of play and with the willing co-opera- tion of the directors and "man- agers in their desire to keep the game clean and free from every phase of foul play "

However, the Seaforth Boys GELEREGIMETRESSERRENYEKEURSTEF would withdraw from the League,

This was a most sporting deci- EXTEND CLUB sion on their part, he said, as not "A" FIFTEEN

in the League, but their standard of football was high and their con- tinued relations with the Boys' League would help enomously to improve the standard there.
