CHRISTIANITY AS ALLEGED
CLOAK FOR POLITICS
Berlin, To-day.
Twelve thousand delegates of the German Christian movement, who met in conference at Wartburg yesterday, passed a resolution intended as a reply to the World Congress of Churches held at Oxford recently.
→
The resolution declares that in attempting to establish a German National Church, the German Christian movement is concerned solely with the Christian faith of the German people, and hence has nothing in common with international zealo- tism "using Christianity as a suitable cloak for con- duct of international politics."
Hence, it says, German Christians will refuse to have any dealings with the Universal Church move- ment
The resolution sharply protests against the action of the interna- tional movement in misusing ́ reli- gious conceptions for conducting a political campaign against Naziism.
