In the Island Bay Handicap for "C" Class Chima ponies (First Sec- tion), King's Coronation (Mr. Proulx) was made favourite, and it certainly justified the comidence of its many supporters. Carrying 165, Ibs., Rob Roy found the burden. a little too severe, and in finishing second it put up a good perform- ance. Quite a number of the ponies were bunched together most of the way, but after rounding the bend it was observed that King's Coronation was on the outside, and it finished quite easily, although Mr. Deitz made a great effort on Rob Roy. Kum Shan (Mr. K. S. Shu) was third.
