JUNK SET ALIGHT

"The following morning," contin- taken ued the master, "we were back to our junk and told to gather our property and tranship it to the other junk. After we had done so our junk was set alight and as we sorrowfully set sail for Cheung Chau, we saw it blazing fiercely.

"A short while after this we saw two aeroplanes, which must have been Chinese, appear in the sky. On sighting the warship, they made for it and dropped several bombs, which we could see bursting all around it. Whether they scored any hits, though, I am unable to say. The warship maintained terrific fire on the aeroplanes which eventually flew away.
