AND OLYMPIC GAMES
Doubt of Start Still Exists
Tokyo, To-day The statement by the Premier, Prince Konoye, that doubt still existed whether the Olympic Games would be held in Tokyo in 1940 as scheduled, has aroused much in- terest.
The Japanese Olympic Commit- tee, presided over by Rrince Toku- gawa, immediately expressed itself strongly in favour of holding the Games in spite of the admitted dif- ficulties
On the other hand, Japanese busi- ness circles oppose the organisation of an Olympiad nader existing cumstances.
"It is announced that the final de- cision in the matter will shortly be taken by the Government. ~Trans- Ocean.
