Tokyo, To-day.

An admission that 22 Japanese naval planes have been shot down by Chinese aviators or anti-airc craft guns, was made by the Navy Office in Tokyo yesterday.

A spokesman of the Navy Office revealed this in the course of a denial of Chinese claims to have shot down 61 Japanese planes in Chekiang, Kiangsu and Anhwei from August 14 to 31.

It should be noted, however, that the official Japanese figures apply to Shanghai only, and that no figures are given concerning Japanese army planes lost in other parts of the country. Trans-Ocean.
