JAPAN'S HUGE WAR BUDGET PASSES DIET

The extraordinary session of: the Japanese Diet came to an end yesterday after lasting five days.
The Diet approved the spécial supplementary budget for continua- tion of operations in China, and also passed eleven Bills for mobilising the national resources in view of the conflict.
The Diet further passed unani-i mously 2 resolution affirming the "determination of the united Japanese nation to stabilise condi- tions in the Far East conformably with the Imperial message read at -Trans- the opening of the session."-

This statement was issued by the semi-official German news agency, in denial of reports appearing in the foreign press of German interfer- ence in "certain events abroad.”

It is announced that the British- Government, at the request of the Red Cross organisation, has char- tered the steamer Gibel Zerjon for transport of refugees now housed in the various Embassies Madrid
The steamer is expected to arrive în Valencia this evening and will take the refugees on board to con- vey them to Marseilles.
The British hospital ship Maine will also be utilised for the same purpose.
The refugees in question number some 4,000, of whom a large num- ber are from South America.
The French Government has un- taken to organise transport of the refugees lodged in the French En
bassy in Madrid-Trans-Ocean.
