Choose Nourishing Cold Dishes
We are often tempted to allow cold meals for hot days to degen- erate into mere snacks, because it la rather difficult to think up cold dishes which are both nourishing and appetising.
Put it through the mincing ݒma- chine and dredge with a little flour before adding the gravy.
Make a pastry of 8oz. self-raising flour, 4oz. lard, pepper and salt.

There are a lot of dishes which our foreign neighbour prepare that are so savoury and good that though they may be a connoisseur's recipe, they should be a part of your kitchen file. For instance, there is Hungarian rump steak.
cup onions, chopped
2 tablespoons butter
tomatoes
1⁄2 clove garlic
teaspoon salt
1⁄4 teaspoon paprika

pound rump steak
medium sized potatoes, cubed.
Brown onions lightly in butter în a deep pan. Peel and slice, toma- toes and add to onion with garlic, salt and paprika. Simmer for about 10 minutes. Add water, the meat cut into 4 pieces, then potatoes. Cover dish and bake in moderate oven (325 degrees F.) for 2 hours or until meat is very tender. Serve four..
