For five hours last night the southern branch of the British Board of Boxing Control considered the portest made by Mr. John Har- ding, manager o of the National Sporting Club, against Jack Doyle, the Irish heavy-weight, who declin- ed to proceed with his match again- st Gunnar Baerlund, of Finland, at the Empress Stadium, Earl's Court, on June 28.
́It was decided to send a letter by hand to Doyle requesting him to visit the offices of the Board to-day to give his own reasons, and answer a request that he should submit his injured hand to independent médi- cal examination.

If Doyle declines the matter will be laid before the stewards at a specially convened meeting in the near future. Doyle bas booked a passage to America and intends sailing to-day.
