The Omar brothers did not have things their own way in their third Round encounter in their Open Pairs Lawn Bowls championship match against J. S. Logan and J. G. Meyer, at the Civil Service Cricket Club when they won by 22 shots to 16.
The Kowloon Bowling Green Club pair led from the start and at the 10th head were 10 shots to 3 in the lead, but at the 16th head, they were only two shots ahead. The Omars then obtained a four to take the lead for the first time, on the 18th head.
On the last head, the Omar brothers were three shots in the lead, but the Kowloon Bowling Green Club pair were lying the shot. Meyer had no option but to drive to try and carry the jack in order to get the required shots, but unfortunately he took
away his
own shot to give his opponents an- other three.

The All-England Lawn Tennis Championships at Wimbledon were taken a step nearer the climax yesterday, when the quarter-final round (last eight) in the Men's Singles Championship was con- cluded, Frankie Parker, of the United States, caus- ing a sensation by eliminating Heinrich Henkel, of Germany, in a five set duel, while H. W. "Bunny" Austin, Great Britain's remaining hope, defeated Bryan M. "Bitsy" Grant, of the United States, in three straight sets. ...
Baron Gottfried Von Cramm, of Germany, also succeeded, de- feating the former Wimbledon champion, Jack Crawford, in five sets, while Donald Budge, of America, the favourite, won without being extended, eliminating Vivian McGrath, the Australian Singles Champion, in three sets and with the loss of only eight games.
