Fall In Turnover Checked
The twenty-ninth annual general meeting of Whiteaway, Laidlaw and Co., Ltd., was held at Winchester House, London, E. C. last month.
Mr. Mence Wilkinson (chairman and managing director) presided, and, in the course of his address, said: During the year which end- ed on February 28 last, trade has been substantially better than it was during the preceding year, and the fall in the turnover, brought| about by conditions which were quite beyond our control, seems to have been definitely checked, and fair percentages of advances have been made. The total trade for the year was approximately nine per cent. better than the previous year.
For the first two months of the current financial year (March and April), every centre of the com- pany's business shows still further improvement.
