Incident On Wanchai Gap Road

Robbers undressed a Peak house- boy in order to make more certain of escape after holding him up on Wanchai Gap Road below Bowen Road at about 10.30 p.m. last night. The boy," who is 51, and em- ployed by Mr. A. H. McBride at No. 526, The Peak, was returning to his quarters, when he was stopped by a man who pretended to be a police- man and proceeded to search him.
When the man took off his coat, the house-boy realised the true state of affairs and cried out for help, whereupon another man join- ed the party and tied a piece of cloth over his mouth.
They then undressed him and fled down the hillside, towards Wan- chai.

Coolie Detains Armed Robber
The pluck of Chan Kam, a dock- yard coolie, who grappled with an armed robber who entered his house in the early hours of the morning, resulted in Chu Ki, an earth coolie, making an appearance before Mr. W. Schofield at the Central Magis- tracy charged with robbery by two

Chan Kam was suddenly awaken- ed at 3.15 yesterday morning by shouts and found a man over him who tried to prevent him from getting up. He saw another man strug- gling with his wife and a third' keeping watch outside the house. Shortly after, neighbours heard the commotion and assisted him in. detaining his assailant.
All three robbers were armed! with knives and wore masks. They|| remained in the house for about 30 minutes and stole $11.50 which was, in a purse under the pillow of the man's wife. The two confederates escaped.
Accused was remanded for 48 hours.
