K.C.C. CHALLENGE IN "A" DIVISION

MEET VERY GOOD I.R.C. SIDE TO-DAY

INDIAN TEAM IS VERY

WELL-BALANCED

H.K.C.C. TEAM ANNOUNCED

(By "ADREM")

PROVIDED the weather is not too bad this after-

noon, the “A" Division of the Lawn Tennis League, will commence with a full programme of matches, several of which should be fairly interest- ing.

In partnership with H. D. Rum- Jahn, A. R. Minu, above, will represent the I R. C. against K.C.C. in the "A" Division of the Tennis League this afternoon.

PROBABLY THE MOST EVENLY WILL BE THE K.C.C. - I.R.C. ENCOUNTER AT KING'S PARK WHICH SHOULD PROVIDE A POINTER REGARDING THE FORMER TEAM AS POTENTIAL CHALLENGERS FOR THE TITLE.

Indian R.C. have just nominated their team and will be repre- sented by two very good pairs and a more than useful third string. If anything, they are slightly the better-balanced side. S. A. Rumjahn and A. R. Minu and H. D. Rumjahn and A. H. Madar, should be good for two sets against the strongest in the Colony— provided Minu and Madar are in practice and playing up to form-

PROMISING COMBINATION Gray was good in patches, mak- ing several

very foolish Once he had settled down, however, he played just the type of game that doubles; pays so well in mixed driving hard, serving hard and go- ing for "kills" overhead through- out. When he manages to curb his impetuosity and overcomes his ten- dency to "poach,” this combination should do well against any team in the League.

E, F. Fincher and Miss· 0. Dalziel were not as convincing as expected, the latter was far too erratic and made innumerable er- rors on the forecourt off the sim- plest of returns. Her ground strokes, however, were beautifully executed and revealed what a really good player she could be if she con- centrated on an improvement in her forecourt play. Fincher was good and more than made up for the lapses of his partner,
