The first case of giant killing in the tennis world this season occurred yesterday when the German ace and. generally accepted successor to Fred Perry, Baron Gottfried von Cramm, fell a victim to a comparatively un- known player.

County Cricket In Two-Day Games
WORCESTER WINS
London, To-day. ship cricket matches started on Two of the County Champion-
Saturday were ended
in two days, Worcester beating War- wick and Derby, the Champions, scoring a narrow win over Essex. The wickets are still favouring the bowler and yesterday's scores were all on the low side.
Worcester beat Warwick by 113 runs in a low-scoring match. The only individual performance of note was that of Hollies, the Warwick bowler, who took 6 wickets for 92 runs în Worcester's second nings.

Derby had a close match with Essex, for whom P. Smith, who was one of the mainstays of the bowl- ing last year with 76 wickets to his credit, took 11 wickets in the match for only 121 runs.
Essex
Derby won by 74 runs, failing in their second înnings be- fore the spin bowling of Towns send.
Scores:
At Birmingham, Worcester beat Warwick by 113 runs. Worcester 161 and 208 (Hollies - 6 for: 92); Warwick 169 and 87.
At Chelmsford, Derby beat Es- sex by 74 runs. Derby 234 (P. Smith 5 for 86) and 86 (P. Smith 6 for 35); Essex 122 and 124 (Townsend 5 for 49)--Reuter.
