Chinese Painters Create Academy History

Three Pictures Hung In This Year's Exhibition

London, To-day.

Two Chinese artists have pictures hung in this year's Royal Academy and are the first Chinese ever to be thus honoured.

MISS SHOU PI-YANG HAS TWO PICTURES. SHE ORIGIN- ALLY STUDIED IN SHANGHAI AND CAME TO ENGLAND ABOUT EIGHTEEN MONTHS AGO.

SHE HAS SINCE STUDIED PARTLY IN ENGLAND AND PARTLY IN FRANCE, AND HAS TWO EXQUISITE STUDIES ONE OF A CHINESE BIRD OF PARADISE AND THE OTHER OF CHINESE PONIES.

Done in water-colours and painted on silk, they are in true Chinese classical style.

It is understood the Committee was enthusiastic they saw the pictures.
