"MR. LIANG WAS A TRUE SPORTSMAN” JOCKEY CLUB LOSE MOST

JOCKEY

(By "RAPIER”)

The sad passing of Mr. S. Y. Liang at the Yeung Wo Nursing Home yesterday afternoon, 13 days after his accident at the last Race Meeting (he was badly kicked after being unseated from Tabby Cat in the Gin Drinkers Bay Plate), has robbed the Hong Kong Jockey Club of probably their most popular Chinese rider.

Mr. Liang was a true sportsman, never bemoaning a lost race due to infringement or worrying the Stewards with petty protests. He took both victory and defeat with a smile and hence has a large following of friends who will bemoan his passing. :
