SUCCESS

A fairly big crowd attended the_April_meeting of the Macao Jockey Club which was conduct- ed in sunny weather yesterday.

Shanghai 4, ridden by Mr. Norman Deitz, in the Tap Siac Handicap, which was the princi- pal race on the card, carried top weight and started second fa- vourite to win easily by two lengths.

Miss Bery! Fair after being beaten by her sister Betty in the last three races reversed the de- cision in the Ladies' Race and won easily by two lengths. White Spirit, her mount, started favourite and had the race in safe keeping from the start.

Miss Macau, Yesterday.

Joan Old, riding 11 lbs. What proved to be a worthy fore- over-weight, managed to beat Lois runner of future Interport football Fearon for second place after games between Macau and Hong ding-dong battle, by a half length.
