After thirteen hours of discussions, the All- India Congress Committee has adopted, by 127 votes to 70, an amended resolution authorising and permitting acceptance of office in the pro- vinces, where Congress commands a majority in the Legislature.
THERE IS A PROVISO THAT MINISTERSHY'S SHALL NOT BE ACCEPTED UNLESS THE LEADER OF THE CONGRESS PARTY IN THE LEGISLATURE IS SATISFIED AND ABLE TO STATE PUBLICLY THAT THE GOVERNOR WILL NOT USE HIS SPECIAL POWERS OF INTERFERENCE OR SET ASIDE THE ADVICE OF HIS MINISTERS REGARDING THEIR CON- STITUTIONAL ACTIVITIES.
